Few signs of use. Upholstery velvet is a heavy, dense fabric. In the case of our divan blanket, the pile is made of wool that was dyed before weaving and woven with a very dense, strong cotton fabric as a backing. Our cubistically decorated blanket shows some loss of pile.

The dense, heavy, and therefore very durable divan blanket with Expressionist decor measures an impressive 3 meters long and 140 cm high. Such blankets served as throws or draperies on sofas or as tablecloths for large dining tables in the living room. Our example is overall well preserved and features richly decorated Cubist patterns, consisting of squares in shades of brown, red, and berry tones on a light brown ground.
