about this Object:
This rare breakfast plate comes from a déjeuner by Konrad Hentschel, who designed the Crocus Déjeuner in 1896 and enjoyed great success with it. At the 1900 World's Fair in Paris, the Meissen Manufactory exhibited the then-new Art Nouveau décor, gaining considerable attention and commercial success. The design was subsequently varied; the Crocus Breakfast Plate with openwork decoration on the rim dates from this period. The Crocus was included in the manufactory's price lists until 1906.
